Thomas Pratt (1898–1973) was an American film editor.

Born in Santa Barbara, California, Pratt was active as an editor from 1928 through 1959, apparently exclusively for Warner Brothers. His films include:

Au sein de la Warner Bros. principalement, il est monteur sur soixante-quatre films américains, le premier sorti en 1925 étant le film muet Tourbillon de jeunesse de William A. Seiter (produit par Universal Pictures, avec May McAvoy et Jack Mulhall).

Suivent notamment Glorious Betsy d'Alan Crosland (1928, avec Dolores Costello et Conrad Nagel), The Crowd Roars d'Howard Hawks (1932, avec James Cagney et Joan Blondell), Le Mort qui marche de Michael Curtiz (1936, avec Boris Karloff et Ricardo Cortez) et Underground de Vincent Sherman (1941, avec Jeffrey Lynn et Philip Dorn).

Après 1944, il revient brièvement au cinéma dans les années 1950, pour un documentaire de 1952 et trois ultimes films ; le dernier est Bagarre au-dessus de l'Atlantique de Byron Haskin (Benedict Bogeaus Production, avec Guy Madison et Virginia Mayo), sorti en 1959.

En outre, pour son unique incursion à la télévision, Thomas Pratt est monteur d'un épisode, diffusé en 1955, de la série américaine Badge 714.

After criminology professor Richard Wanley sends his wife and two children off on vacation, he goes to his club to meet friends. Next door, Wanley sees a striking oil portrait of Alice Reed (Joan Bennett) in a storefront window. He and his friends talk about the beautiful painting and its subject. Wanley stays at the club and reads Song of Songs. When he leaves, Wanley stops at the portrait and meets Reed, who is standing near the painting watching people watch it. Reed convinces Wanley to join her for drinks.

A pair of bizarre murders occur wherein the victims are drained of their rare blood type. Reporter Walter Garrett (Wayne Morris) consults with his friend Dr. Mike Rhodes (Dennis Morgan) which leads them to Rhodes' former mentor, hematologist Dr. Francis Flegg (John Litel). Flegg is initially unhelpful but when Garrett and Rhodes notice a striking resemblance between Flegg's strange assistant, Marshall Quesne (Humphrey Bogart) and the late Dr. Maurice Xavier, they confront Flegg. Flegg admits that he used scientific methods to bring Xavier back from the grave and employed a synthetic blood formula to sustain his life. However, the formula is unstable, and therefore, Quesne/Xavier must seek out human victims with a rare blood type featured in the formula in order stay alive.

During World War I, Franz Strendler, a master German spy has cost the British dearly. In desperation, they send for their best agent, currently undercover in Germany.
