Eros International PLC is an Indian motion picture production and distribution company, based in Mumbai. The company was founded by Arjan Lulla in 1977. It is a leading global company in the Indian film entertainment industry. Eros co-produces, acquires and distributes Indian language films in multiple formats worldwide, including theatrical, television syndication and digital platforms.
The group distribution network includes over 50 countries, with films dubbed in over 25 languages and offices in India, UK, USA, Dubai, Australia, Fiji and the Isle of Man. Eros has over 2,300 films in its library, plus an additional 700 films for which the group hold digital rights only.
In 2006, Eros International Plc, the holding company of the Eros Group, became the first Indian media company to list on the Alternative Investment Market (AIM) of the London Stock Exchange. Subsequently, the company delisted from AIM in November 2013 to list on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE:EROS).
In 2010, Eros listed its Indian subsidiary Eros International Media Limited on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and National Stock Exchange (NSE) in India.
Josutty (Dileep) is the son of Joseph and Shoshamma. He belongs to a middle class traditional Christian farmer family in Kattappana, Idukki. As a child he desired is to become a priest. But eventually he falls in love with Jessy (Rachana Narayanankutty), his neighbor and childhood friend. Josutty is a sixth standard dropout. This disqualification becomes a barrier for him to marry her. Josutty's family was in deep debt and had sisters who where of age to marry off, yielding to the advice from his friends and relatives he agrees to marry Rose (Jyothi Krishna), a divorcee nurse settled in New Zealand. Soon after the marriage, he immigrates to New Zealand with his wife. Upon reaching there, Josutty's life turns upside down. Rose's bipolar affections confuses Josutty and later he finds out his wife is pursuing an extramarital life with her former boyfriend. All of a sudden he realizes, he is a "total square" and that everything he believed to be true throughout life was wrong and he vows to make money. His friend Priya and Devassy helps him to run a restaurant and he slowly grows economically. He falls for Priya and works for 9 years in New Zealand. After his father's death he goes back to Kattappana facing repressed realities of emptiness in his life from the passing away of his mother, father and close friend. There he meets a door to door sales woman(Nayantara) and marries her and vows to have more children than his first love and neighbor Jessy with the intend to "live life to the fullest".
A young boy named Rana, who hails from the kingdom of Kottaipattinam, leaves his family, despite his brother Sena pleading him not to do so. The boy soon meets with an accident while rowing in the river and is eventually discovered by some fishermen from the neighbouring kingdom of Kalingapuri, a rival of Kottaipattinam. Rana (Rajinikanth) grows up there and trains in weaponry, and grows up to be a fearless warrior. Due to his fighting skills and bravery, he soon wins the confidence of the king of Kalingapuri, Raja Mahendran, who promotes him as Commander-in-Chief of the Kalingapuri army. Rana's first job as Commander-in-Chief is to free the soldiers of his hometown Kottaipattinam, who are being treated as slaves, enlist them in the army and train them. He then seeks the permission of Raja Mahendran to attack Kottaipattinam, to which the latter agrees. However, during the war, Rana encounters his childhood friend, crown prince Sengodagan, the son of Rishikodagan, king of Kottaipattinam. Immediately signalling an end to the war, he, along with the soldiers disown Kalingapuri and return to Kottaipattinam, much to the disgust of Raja Mahendran and his son, crown prince Veera Mahendran, who swear revenge on Rana for tricking them and betraying Kalingapuri.
This film starts by Sid (as an adult) losing his mother. He then collects his lost bag at a airport where a girl from a publication house tells him that she read his diary and he is quite a writer which revives some old memories for him. He then goes to INDIA to sell his mother's cottage in kasauli. Sid finds himself looking back at a past that haunted him for years.
Krish Malhotra, a student from Delhi, is pursuing his MBA at IIM Ahmedabad. Krish comes from a family very proud of their Punjabi heritage. He meets Ananya Swaminathan in his college canteen, who comes from a conservative Tamil Brahmin family. Krish and Ananya become friends and start studying together. Soon they begin dating, and stay together for their two years on the IIM campus. Krish confides in Ananya that his real passion is writing, which he wants to pursue a career in.
In a Gujarati village, Ranjaar, infamous for its uninhibited manufacture and sale of arms and ammunition (weapons are sold like vegetables at the place), two clans, Rajadi and Sanera, have been at odds with each other for the past 500 years. The film opens with a violent altercation between the two over petty matters. Meghji (Abhimanyu Singh), a Rajadi head, sets out to kill Bhavani (Gulshan Devaiah) who is a Sanera, after the latter tries to kill the former's son. Bhavani is almost killed but Ram (Ranveer Singh), Meghji's younger brother, intervenes and saves him, only to be reprimanded by Meghji. All the Rajadi elders are irked by Ram's mindset of making truce with the other clan.
In 1960, an aspiring musician, Govind (Shahid Kapoor), meets Ruksar (Priyanka Chopra), a young woman who ran away from her home with her best friend to become a famous film star, on a train heading to Bombay, India. The two bond over their careers but part ways after arriving in Bombay. Govind befriends Mahi (Prachi Desai), a confident and modern girl. Ruksar meets Govind again and the two hit it off at a party. When Govind notices a photo journalist following him and Ruksar, he holds Mahi's hand to mislead him, unaware that Mahi has fallen in love with him. It is then revealed that Mahi is the best friend of Ruksar had run away with, and the two tell each other about the man they've fallen in love with, not realising it is the same person. When Ruksar, Mahi and Govind all meet, the three realise what happened and brokenheartedly part ways.
The film revolves around a gangster named Mustafa (Patekar) who is a contract killer and can go any limit to please his superiors and offers 5 times Namaz. He was adopted by a powerful don Shanta Prasad (Rawal) when he was a child. He calls Shanta as Abba (an Urdu term for father). Abba taught him the crime tactics and made Mustafa his weapon for his illicit crimes. Mustafa's only aide is Sudama, his childhood best friend. Abba shares enmity with the Verma brothers Mahesh, Rohan and Bipin (Pradhan, Joshi and Bahl) which the trio wants to kill Abba. Meanwhile, a dancer Kavita (Tandon) who works in Verma's dance club. Mustafa falls for her which heats up enmity of Vermas and Mustafa. Kavita meets Mustafa and he tells his life's history to which Kavita develops a soft core for Mustafa. He marries her and love blossoms. But this happiness does not last long as Kavita gets killed in a car blast (a plan hatched by Vermas to kill Abba instead). Her death made Mustafa realise his mistakes and wants to end up giving up crime. He kills Mahesh's son by planting a bomb on his forehead. He goes to Dixit's house where he is disliked by them but his heart warming nature wins the Dixit's family's heart. Abba is happy that Mustafa is recovering from his trauma and helps Vikram (Joshi) for his education and job, bails out Dayanand Dixit (Satam) by false crimes and helps Vidya to marry Arun (Behl). Meanwhile Bipin's lustful eyes falls on Vidya. During elections Mustafa involves in a brawl where he kills Mahesh and his Rohan in a bomb blast and helps the politician Imtiaz to win. Mustafa now wants to surrender himself to police and refuses to work for Imtiaz and Abba anymore. Imtiaz orders Abba to kill Mustafa in fear that in future he will confess the crimes of Imtiaz and Abba. In the wedding night, Bipin enters the house and tries to rape Vidya but Mustafa slits him brutally with a mirror piece. Police arrives and Mustafa is about to surrender but before he wants to marriage ceremony to be complete. Abba arrives and offers Mustafa to continue his work again but he refuses. Mustafa offers Namaz for thanking Allah. Helpless, Abba has no other option but to obey the orders of Imtiyaz and finally orders his men to shoot Mustafa and kills him. A hearbroken yet angered Sudama then kills Abba.
