Seenu (2000)

Kesavan (P.Vasu) is a famous singer while his younger brother Seenu (Karthik) spends his time picking fights with people who speak ill of Kesavan. This is a constant source of irritation to everyone in the family. Kesavan slowly becomes a slave to drinks which affects his ability to sing. When this happens at a concert, Seenu fills in for him and sings. While he intended this to be a one-time affair, his singing catches the public's fancy and he becomes more popular than Kesavan. This makes Kesavan jealous and he starts hating Seenu. Kesavan leaves home, Seenu searches for him, only to receive the news that he is dead. In the climax, Seenu becomes a famous singer and credits his brother as the reason for his success.

Amaran (Karthik), a orphan child, is brought up by Govindan (Vijayakumar) whom Amaran saved. Thereafter, Govindan died, his wife (Manjula Vijayakumar) brought up him and Amaran grows to become a kind-hearted slum king. Later, he has to face the heartless don Aandava Perumal (Radha Ravi) in Tamil Nadu who has a brutal past. In the meantime, Amaran and Sivagaami (Bhanupriya) fall in love with each other. Amaran comes to know that Aandava Perumal killed his family when he was a child. Before he could take revenge, he was almost beaten to death and he escapes to Goa. He was taken care by the underworld don Menon (Shammi Kapoor) and continues to work for him for a while and gets married to Sivagaami.

Seenu (Karthik) grows as an orphan and becomes a full-time stealer, he helps prisoners by solving their problems outside. One day, intrigued by a prisoner silence, Seenu asks him his problem. The prisoner is Adhiseshan (Devan), maternal uncle of Gayatri (Srinidhi), and he wants to save her life from her paternal uncle (Anandaraj) and her brother. Seenu promised him to solve his problem. Firstly, Gayatri avoids Seenu but she soon understands the conspiracy of Rajasekhar and she begin to be closed with Seenu. Adhiseshan reveals to Seenu after seeing the photo of Seenu's mother that he is his father. Happy, he brings Gayatri to Adhiseshan's home but they find him death. Gayatri's guardians borrows lot of money, so they are sent to jail, she cannot stay to her house so Seenu accommodates her. Seenu decided to earn money in the right way to realize Gayatri's dream : to become a Carnatic music singer. When she becomes a famous singer, she builds a new house and she reveals to Seenu that she's in love with Suresh (Siva), her hardcore fan. Suresh's father releases Rajasekhar to separate them before their marriage. Seenu manages to save them and the couple elope. To keep his neighbouring (Manorama) promise after her death, Seenu decide to carry the widow woman and her son.
