Kadhal Kavithai (English: Poem of Love) is a 1998 Tamil romantic film directed by Agathiyan and produced by Murali Manohar. The film features Prashanth and Isha Koppikar in the lead roles, while Kasthuri, Manivannan and Srividya play other supporting characters. The film had music composed by Ilaiyaraaja, while duo Lancy-Mohan and Ravi Yadav handled the editing and cinematography respectively. After opening in December 1998, the film went on to gain success critically and became a commercially successful venture.
Synopsis
Vishva (Prashanth) spends his time hanging out with Charlie to avoid his mother (Ambika) who always quarrels with his dad (Manivannan). To find peace, he plays tricks on others. Among the victims is Jothi (Isha Koppikar). The story moves to London, where Prasanth visits Princess Diana's grave and leaves a beautiful poem behind. At the same time, Isha too visits the grave and leaves a note after reading the poem. Then begins a warm relationship between Isha Koppikar and Prashanth without seeing each other. Whether Prashanth, Isha Kopikar are united form the rest of the story.Actors

Eshwar (Prashanth) is the son of Vishwanatham (R.Sundarajan) & (Vadivukarasi), who has a naturally helpful personality. He will come to the rescue of any one who is in difficulties. Eshwar’s friend is facing a problem in getting married to his fiancée. Eshwar helps his friend which leads to a skirmish brawl & also falls in love with his friend’s sister Sanghavi. When Eshwar’s love was accepted by both the parents they approach an astrologer J.V. Somayajalu who predicts Eshwar to be isolated for some time to avoid disaster in his life. Eshwar arrives with his friend Mani Gountamani to their estate in Coonoor - Ooty, where numerous incidents takes place. At one point of time a mentally retarded Oorvasi forcibly takes asylum in Eshwar’s estate. A local thug Ponnambalam tries to molest (Oorvasi) & Eshwar chases the goon Ponnambalam away. Later he was found dead. An inspector of police Devan, is deputed for investigating this case. Devan is a relative of Sanghavi & they were supposed to marry. The investigation leads to several proof & Eshwar is blamed for Ponnambalam’s murder.

Kasi is a tale about the deception of appearances. Kasi(Vikram) is a blind poet and singer who supports his family by his songs. He has an older brother Sevalai(Thalaivasal Vijay) who spends what money he has drinking, an abusive, crippled father and a younger sister Lakshmi(Kavya Madhavan). When the local landlord, Raghupathi(Rajeev) returns to the district, he brings along with him Mr Dinesh, the CM's son and his wife Radhika(Aishwarya). Raghupathi has a reputation as a God in the area because of his charitable works and when a specialist eye doctor arrives he promises to pay the fees for an operation to give back Kasi's vision. Elated by this news, Kasi learns that he has to find an eye-donor and his girlfriend Kaveri(Kaveri), who cannot speak, offers one of her eyes. Unfortunately, something happens that shows that the 'God-like' Raghupathi and Mr Dinesh are not what they seem. Blissfully unaware of the sadness of those around him, Kasi looks forward to his operation.

Sanjay (Prashanth) and Nithi (Shalini) are best friends right from their childhood days. They are neighbours, have grown up together, attend the same college and spend every minute of their waking hours together. Both have their admirers in college with Sneha (Jomol) wooing Sanjay and Praveen (Krishna) revealing his love for Nithi. Nithi's week-long trip to Bangalore, along with some prodding by his housemaid, makes Sanjay realise how much he misses Nithi and that he is in love with her. Murthy (Prashanth) earns his living taking the blame for the mistakes of other people and the jail is his second home. Dhanushkodi (Raghuvaran) has sworn to kill ex-collector Ramanathan's (Vijayakumar) son and so, Ramanathan has transferred his son Santosh (Pravinkanth) to Mauritius while telling the world that he has run away. Wishing to save his son, he hires Murthy to act as his long lost son, hoping that Dhanushkodi would kill him instead of his actual son. Murthy too accepts the gig since his lover Preeti (Jyotika) is Ramanathan's niece. In the climax, Santhosh supports Dhanushkodi for killing his father, But Dhanushkodi kills Santhosh. The film ends with Murthy taking the blame for killing Santhosh and surrenders himself to police.

Sakthi (Prashanth) studying in a college in the city & he gets into quarrels every other day. Not able to withstand the threats from hooligans, Sakthi’s mother (Jayamurali) & father (Vijayakumar) packs him up to their village where Sakthi’s grandfather Velayutham (M. N. After a huge tussle whether Sakthi brings back Neelaveni, Whether they unite or not is the rest of the story.
