Keelugurram or Keelu Gurram (English title: The Magic Horse) is a 1949 Telugu film produced and directed by Raja of Mirzapur under Sobhanachala Pictures. noted writer Tapi Dharma Rao wrote the story, dialogues and lyrics for the film. This is debut film of Ghantasala Venkateswara Rao as music director. It was dubbed into Tamil entitled Maya Kudhirai.
Synopsis
King of Vidarbha becomes attracted to Mohini (Anjali Devi). He brings her to his kingdom as a second wife. She is a demon. She eats elephants and horses in the fort at night leaving bones. According to her plan, she manages to shift the blame onto the Queen. The king punishes the pregnant queen and sends her to the forest. She gives birth to a son (Akkineni). He grows up in Koya Gudem and learns all fighting skills. With the help of Keelu Gurram (Magic horse) which can fly in the sky, he wins the king's attention. He was given the Sainyadhikari (Chief of Army) position due to his bravey. He saves a damsel in distress (Lakshmirajyam). Knowing his intentions, Mohini sends him on an impossible mission to bring her a medicinal herb for her headache. He faces many adventures in pursuit of his goal. He learns that Mohini is in an insect. He reaches the kingdom, while his mother is sentenced to death by hanging. He kills Mohini and saves his mother and restores her dignity.Actors

Prabhu (ANR) dreamt of a lovely lady, his 'Dream Girl' or 'Swapna Sundari'. He encounters a tribal queen (G. Varalakshmi) while on tour, who falls in love with him, but he rejects her. But an evil Mantrik (Mukkamala) finds out that with her help, he can conquer the world and become invincible so he kidnaps her. Prabhu, with the help of the tribal queen vanquishes the evil Mantrik, but the Rani dies. Swapna Sundari and Prabhu live happily ever after.

Durjaya kills his elder brother Maharajah Jayaveera of Vindhya Kingdom and occupies the throne. Shatamitra secretly takes care of the Prince Shivasri and waiting for an opportunity to take revenge. Avanti is daughter of a subordinate king. She hates men. Durjaya connivingly brings her to the Kingdom and announces her as the Queen. Shivasri and Avanti started loving each other. At the end Shivasri and Avanti get married and rules the Vindya Kingdom.

This is a Folklore story of a Gandharva kanya loving a human prince. Jayanth (ANR) gets ousted from the kingdom. He meets Suvarna Sundari (Anjali Devi) who comes to earth on every Kaarteeka Pournami day. They love each other. Lord Indra comes to know about their love and curses Suvarna Sundari. As a result Jayanth forgets her. She loses her child near the river. How the two protagonists reunite forms the story.

Ravi (Akkineni), son of Bhushaiah (Gummadi) is studying at Visakhapatnam. He loves his classmate Saroja (Krishna Kumari). Saroja's mother is cheated by Chalapati. He accidentally meets her while stealing a necklace from Saroja. Bhushaiah is sentimental about Kulam (Caste) and Gotram and does not accept his love. Ravi leaves the house and marries Saroja in a Temple. Ravi is posted as a police inspector in the same town. His nephew (Relangi) is arrested while gambling. Because of his father, he could not attend the marriage of his sister. His mother dies of mental illness, which brings about a change in Bhushaiah. Ravi has a son, who attracts Bhushaiah to visit him secretly and even gifts him a gold chain. Chalapati attempts to rob the house of Bhushaiah and get caught by Ravi. At the end Bhushaiah leaves his casteism and invites his son, daughter-in-law and grandson to his house.

Sekhar (Akkineni Nageswara Rao), a wealthy man, goes to comfort his friend (Chalam) in a nature cure hospital. He is impressed with the services of Sharada (Anjali Devi), and the two of them fall in love. Sekhar goes abroad for higher education, and they plan to marry after he returns; however, his elders consider marrying him to Lakshmi (Jamuna Ramanarao). Sekhar's plane crashes and everyone believes him dead. Sharada's father looks after the agricultural works of Sekhar's father (Gummadi Venkateswara Rao). One day he visits their house and discovers the condition of Sekhar's family and orphaned brothers and sisters. He and the elders think that if Sharada is married to Sekhar's father, the family will be taken care of, so Sharada marries him.
