Murder on a Honeymoon is an American 1935 mystery film starring Edna May Oliver and James Gleason. This was the third and last time Oliver portrayed astute schoolteacher Hildegarde Withers and Gleason New York City Police Inspector Oscar Piper; the two previous films were The Penguin Pool Murder (1932) and Murder on the Blackboard (1934). The film was directed by Lloyd Corrigan from a screenplay by Seton I. Miller and Robert Benchley based on the 1933 novel The Puzzle of the Pepper Tree by Stuart Palmer. Palmer's novel, however, did not include Inspector Piper, and has Withers doing the investigating on her own.
Synopsis
On a short flight to Catalina Island off the California coast, a passenger named Roswell T. Forrest (Brooks Benedict) gets sick. Hildegarde Withers (Edna May Oliver) and the others aboard are startled when he is found dead upon landing. It appears to be murder to Miss Withers, but she has a tough time convincing local Police Chief Britt (Spencer Charters) and coroner Dr. O'Rourke (Arthur Hoyt).Actors

During World War II, aircraft factory worker Barry Kane (Robert Cummings) is accused of starting a fire at the Stewart Aircraft Works in Glendale, California, an act of sabotage that killed his friend Mason (Virgil Summers). Kane believes the real culprit is a man named Fry (Norman Lloyd) who, during their efforts to put out the fire, handed him a fire extinguisher filled with gasoline, that he passed on to Mason. When the investigators find no one named "Fry" on the list of plant workers, they assume Kane is guilty.

Three friends who work on the Coney Island boardwalk, Skeets O'Reilly, Baltimore Clark, and Dutch Herman are all in love with the same woman, Sally. At the outbreak of World War I, the three men enlist in the US Navy. Before they leave for active duty, both Skeets and Baltimore meet with Sally, with the intention of letting her know how they feel about her. Airline pilot Jack Gordon (Fred MacMurray) on a flight from New York to San Francisco, is immediately attracted to beautiful passenger Felice Rollins (Joan Bennett). Mike Howell (Jesse Eisenberg) is a stoner who lives in the sleepy town of Liman, West Virginia, where he works as a convenience store clerk, and is planning to propose to his longtime girlfriend, Phoebe Larson (Kristen Stewart), but constantly fails to find the right moment. Samy Diakhaté est un jeune d'origine sénégalaise de la Cité des 4000 à La Courneuve. Comme beaucoup de ses copains, il est au chômage mais veut s'en sortir. Samy, bien décidé à épater Nadia pour la conquérir, se met à la recherche d'un financement pour son voyage au Népal. Sans avoir ni expérience de l'alpinisme ni même entraînement physique, il se jette dans l'aventure mais s'aperçoit vite de ses faiblesses et du défi colossal qu'il doit affronter. Pendant ce temps, la nouvelle s'est propagée en banlieue et à Paris comme une traînée de poudre : toute la banlieue, radio et presse en tête, est avec Samy pour l'encourager et observe ses exploits heure par heure, pendant que sa mère se meurt d'angoisse de perdre son fils.
