Synopsis
Kunjoottan (Sreenivasan) is an innocent young man living in a remote village. He is the only heir to his rich, aristrocratic parents, Thamburan(Nedumudi Venu) and Kunjulakshmi(Sukumari). He cannot stand his overprotective father, who is concerned about his son because he had a bad dream about his son's death. The family astrologer Panikker(Oduvil Unnikrishnan) confirms this and predicts that it will be difficult for Kunjoottan to survive the age of 30 and that he is in great danger from motor vehicles. Worried Thamburan hires two ex-Mahouts Valiya Raman Nair(Kuthiravattom Pappu) and Cheriya Raman Nair(Mamukkoya) to protect Kunjoottan, which further annoys him.Actors

The movie starts with Pradeep enjoying a cricket match.Raghavan Thampi and his wife Subhadra are looking for brides for their sons Prabhakaran and Pradeep. Prabhakaran is aspiring to become a great Mridangam player, against the wishes of his family, while Pradeep is a bank employee. Subharda tries to commit suicide in front of Prabhakaran because he refused to marry Shailaja. Then finally Prabhakaran commits to marry Shailaja. After marriage Prabhakaran scolds Shailaja for any mistakes severely. One day on the insistence of his parents Prabhakaran takes Shailaja to watch a movie. On their way they encounter some goons who make fun of Prabhakaran who was too afraid to face them. He tries to ignore them but in the end their abuses turned out to be too much for his wife.Shailaja turned out to be a Karate expert. She fights the goons with her saree tucked in. The goons have no chance in front of Shailaja as her Karate kicks and punches are too good for them. On the same day at night Shailaja has a dream where she sees that her husband is being attacked by the same goons and she has to again fight them. Pradeep falls in love with Roshini, and they get married secretly in a temple. Pradeep and Roshini marry secretly to hide the marriage from his family. Roshini and Shailaja turned out to be old friends. Hence Roshini takes Pradeep to stay in his own house. After which Pradeep tries every possible trick to get out of the house. He asks his brother for help. Prabhakaran devises a plan in which he will try to prove that Roshini is a thief in front of other family members so that they are thrown out of the house. The plan fails and Prabhakaran himself is caught by the police. He is released after the original thief commits that he is the one who stole the jewellery. In the end Roshini is kidnapped by her stalker. Pradeep goes to save her. But both are caught by the police. The entire family reaches the police station to get him released. During this process some goons who are captured by the constable reach there. One of them takes Shailaja captive. Shailaja bashes up the goons with her Karate kicks in a saree. Eventually a bomb blows up the police station but the entire family escapes unhurt.

After his retirement from Indian Railways, as station master, Raghavan Nair (Thilakan) is back at his home. His long cherished dream to spend his retired life along with his family consisting of wife (Kaviyoor Ponnamma), three sons and two daughters gets a blow after seeing his two sons brawling each other over their political differences. Prabhakaran (Sreenivasan), the elder one is a staunch leftist, and an active worker of the Revolutionary Democratic Party (RDP) which has just lost the Kerala state Assembly elections and relinquished office. Prakashan (Jayaram), popularly known as KRP, his younger brother is involved with the Indian National Secular Party (INSP) which has now come to power. Though they are both educated, neither has any plans to earn a living on their own and are fully immersed in petty politics, sponging off their parents for their needs. Raghavan Nair becomes deeply worried about their future, and tries to advise his sons, but of his admonitions fall on deaf ears. Anandan (Mala Aravindan), his son-in-law is a police sub-inspector but is now on suspension. When the RDP was in power, he arrested and beat up several of the opposition party workers on instruction from the ruling party officials. Now that the previous opposition is in power, they exact their revenge, first by transferring him repeatedly to stations as far away from civilisation as is possible, and then by suspending him. As part of his retired life, Raghavan Nair decides to focus his attention on his agricultural activities and meets the new young agricultural officer (Siddique) and, with his wife's approval, wants their younger daughter to get married to him, but his elder sons oppose it on flimsy and petty reasons. Prakashan, whose party is in power, pulls strings and get him transferred immediately to a remote location in order to prevent the marriage but Nair gets them married at the registrar's office. In the meantime, Anandan and his wife, Raghavan Nair's eldest daughter, demand partition of the property and their share, which Raghavan Nair objects to. The last straw is when their mother falls ill and is hospitalised for a day or so, and none of her children bother to show up at the hospital - in particular, the two older sons. Raghavan Nair, when he sees all of them milling around his house on returning from the hospital, loses his temper. He throws out all his children and orders them never to enter his house again. But to his surprise he finds both Prakasan and Prabhakaran at the gate, fully repented. He calls them in and they begin a new life. The film ends by showing Prabhakaran going to court as a lawyer and Prakashan for a job interview.

Shivasubrahmaniam (Maniyan Pillai Raju), an innocent bank employee is in love with Rohini (Lizzy), but is afraid to express her his love. She is attracted to his innocent and straight forward behavior and fells in love with him. One day, when missed her bus, Rohini asks a car driver a lift, and she is dropped at the ballet troupe office. Accidentally the car belongs to Suresh Menon (Shankar), a rich business tycoon of the area. Sankaran and Chellappan Nair mistakes her to be in love with Suresh Menon. Chellappan, to appease Suresh Menon offers heroine's role to Rohini and gives an increment. Subrahmaniam is suspended from bank for not attending office for long time. Due to certain misunderstandings, Rohini breaks up with him, hurting him deeply. Subru is also thrown out of the troupe by Chellappan Nair for not performing up to the mark. In the mean time Suresh Menon on knowing about Rohini and her claims of being his girl friend appears in front of her. Not knowing that he is original Suresh Menon, she takes his help in solving out the mess created at the ballet troupe. Suresh Menon solving out the mess and uniting Subru with Rohini forms the rest of the story.
