Octobre is a 1994 Quebec movie directed by filmmaker and noted separatist Pierre Falardeau. It tells a fictionalized version of the October Crisis from the point of view of the Chénier Cell, the FLQ terrorist cell who in 1970 kidnapped and murdered Quebec minister and Deputy Premier Pierre Laporte. The movie was co-written with and based on a book by Francis Simard, who was one of the members of the Chénier Cell, and co-produced by the National Film Board of Canada.
Synopsis
Deux cents ans après la conquête de 1760 par l'armée anglaise, des Québécois prennent les armes pour l'indépendance de leur pays. Le Front de libération du Québec (FLQ), renouant avec la lutte des Patriotes de 1837, passe à l'action armée : attaques de casernes, vols d'armes, vols d'explosifs, vol à main armée de financement, dynamitages, etc. Année après année, vagues après vagues, les réseaux du FLQ sont démantelés par la police, pour renaître aussitôt. Pour répondre à la répression et faire libérer leurs camarades emprisonnés, des militants du FLQ déclenchent L'opération libération.Actors

Speak White est un poème en langue française composé par l'écrivaine québécoise Michèle Lalonde en 1968. Il a été récité pour la première fois en 1970 et publié en 1974 aux éditions de l'Hexagone, à Montréal. Il dénonce la mauvaise situation des francophones au Québec et prend le ton d'une plainte collective contre les Québécois anglophones. En 1980, Speak White est porté à l'écran par les polémistes Pierre Falardeau et Julien Poulin. Le film, d'une durée de six minutes, met en scène l'actrice Marie Eykel lisant le poème de Lalonde.

The film follows a young Japanese bombardier Lt. In April 1942 in the Philippines, an American motor torpedo boat is destroyed by Japanese planes. The survivors, among them Ensign Chuck Palmer (Tyrone Power), make their way ashore on Cebu. Their commander orders them to split up. Chuck pairs up with Jim Mitchell (Tom Ewell) and reaches Colonel Benson on Leyte, only to be told that he has been ordered by General Douglas MacArthur to surrender his forces soon.

After World War II, ex-serviceman Joe Barrett (Humphrey Bogart) returns to Tokyo to see if there is anything left of his pre-war bar and gambling joint ("Tokyo Joe's") after all the bombing. The film is set in the Japanese-occupied Shanghai in 1944. Jinmei (Shangguan Yunzhu), a textile worker, is raped by two drunken Japanese soldiers on her way home from work. Xinqun (Huang Zongying) and her boyfriend Mengnan (Zhou Feng), who are members of underground resistance, come to her aid and bring her to the home of their friend Ruoying (Sha Li). Ruoying's husband Yuliang (Zhao Dan) had left Shanghai when war broke out in 1937 to join the anti-Japanese resistance, leaving behind his wife and baby daughter Beibei. After years passed without hearing from her husband, Ruoying has married the prosperous banker Zhongyuan (Lan Ma), assuming Yuliang has died. Zhongyuan claims to be politically "unaffiliated". He works with the Japanese but does not inform on his wife's activist friends.

As a 1917 graduate of the Naval Academy, Naval Aviator Jonathan L. Freighter owner and captain Mike Dillon (Dana Andrews) reluctantly smuggles Jewish immigrants into Palestine, making it very clear to the Jewish leader, David Vogel (Stephen McNally), he is only doing it for the money. Dillon is annoyed to learn that he will have to go ashore to get paid the $8000 he is owed. When a British patrol boat arrives sooner than expected, Dillon is forced to join the Jews in their flight for freedom. Sammy Rice (David Farrar) is a British scientist working with a specialist "back room" team in London during World War II. Rice is embittered because he feels military scientific research is being incompetently managed. He is also enduring unremitting pain from his artificial foot. The painkillers he has been prescribed are ineffective, and his use of alcohol as an analgesic has led to his alcoholism. His girlfriend Susan (Kathleen Byron) puts up with his self-pitying, self-destructive behaviour as long as she can, but finally breaks up with him, telling him that he lacks the ambition to better himself.
