The film features his son Prashanth in a leading role alongside Meena and Abbas, while Suhasini, Kalairani and Sarath Babu amongst others play supporting roles. The music is by Salim-Sulaiman. The film was a remake of Ram Gopal Varma's Hindi film, Bhoot (2003), and was released in July 2004 to a positive response from critics.

Synopsis
The film revolves around Vasanth (Prashanth), a stock analyst, and his wife Malini (Meena). The two are in search for a flat in Chennai. Vassanth finds the perfect place on the 12th floor of a high-rise apartment building. However, the apartment has a horrifying past. The previous occupant of the flat, a young woman Manju who had killed her child and jumped from the balcony and died. Malini learns about this incident shortly after moving in and becomes oddly fixated with the story. Then, a series of inexplicable experiences drive Malini to near madness.Actors

Raja (Prashanth), Sudhakar (Charle), Raghava (Chinni Jayanth), Marudhu (Vadivelu) are good friends stay together as tenants at (Gandhimathi), after being thrown out of the house they start searching for a new house on rent but no one is willing to give their house for bachelors. Finally they come to know a landlady (K. R. Vijaya) in search of a family as her tenants. A plot is hatched by and all the four bachelors dress up to be a family man (Charle), his retarded brother (Chinni Jayanth), his uncle (Vadivelu) & his wife Lakshmi (Prashanth being the wife). Now Prashanth's (who happens to be in a woman's attire) lady love (Suneha - debut) happens to be the landlady's daughter. At one point of time by mistake the friends inform the landlady that Lakshmi is pregnant, the landlady arrange for valaikappu function, followed by a Doctor (Vaishnavi) checkup, burst into a series of rumbled conflicts & all hell breaks loose.

A love affair between Thamarai (Kushboo) and her maternal uncle Nellaiyankondan (Jayaram) is badly received by their family, especially since he is not financially well off. Thamarai's father, King Periyamalaikozhundhu Gounder (Vijayakumar), arranges for her marriage to Mandhiyappan (Prakashraj), ruler of a neighbouring country. Thamarai rejects the arranged marriage, angering Mandhiyappan. She later marries her lover, who had come to see her marry Mandhiyappan, and challenges her brother Chinna Malaikozhundhu (Ponvannan) to marry his daughters off to her sons (the marriage of cousins is a gounder custom). Periyamalaikozhundhu disowns his daughter for choosing Nellaiyankondan and banishes them from his kingdom.

Cornelia Van Gorder (Agnes Moorehead) is a mystery author who lives in a town terrorized by a mysterious murderer known only as "The Bat". The Bat is said to be a man with no face who murders women at night by ripping out their throats with steel claws. Early in the film, The Bat enters Van Gorder's house and releases a bat, which bites van Gorder's maid Lizzy (Lenita Lane). Ugetsu is set in villages which line the shore of Lake Biwa in Ōmi Province in the late 16th century. It revolves around two peasant couples – Genjurō and Miyagi, Tōbei and Ohama – who are uprooted as Shibata Katsuie's army sweeps through their farming village, Nakanogō. Genjurō, a potter, takes his wares to nearby Ōmizo. He is accompanied by Tōbei, who dreams of becoming a samurai.
