Synopsis
A tale from India about the origin of the Buddha, Prem Sanyas depicts the story of Prince Siddhartha Gautama (portrayed by director Himansu Rai), the man who became the Buddha, as he journeys from privilege and seclusion to awareness of the inevitability of life's suffering, finally renouncing his kingdom to seek enlightenment.Actors

The movie is about two kings vying for the love of a hermit's daughter, the beautiful Sunita. The two kings, Ranjit and Sohan share a passion for gambling and decide to play a game of craps to determine who will marry Sunita. Sunita wishes to marry Ranjit. Ranjit loses the game to the nefarious Sohan and as a forfeit becomes his slave. The film opens in 1938. Dominic Matei (Tim Roth), is a 70-year-old professor of linguistics. On the eve of World War II, Dominic attempts to visit the Café Select but is denied access due to wearing his pyjamas. Dominic realises that he is getting no younger, and has essentially failed his aim in life – to fully discover the origin of human language. His tireless labours have condemned him to a solitary existence, often spent pining after Laura (Alexandra Maria Lara), the love of his youth. Intent on committing suicide, Dominic travels to Bucharest, the city where he and Laura met at university. He is struck by lightning. In hospital, he is initially diagnosed by Professor Stanciulescu (Bruno Ganz) to be dying of his burns. However, Stanciulescu is startled when his patient regenerates into a much younger man. The Professor helps Dominic out of the hospital so as to continue studying him. Shortly afterwards, Romania is occupied by the Nazis, whose interests are aroused by Stanciulescu’s miracle patient.

Milarépa naquit au Tibet, au XI siècle, au sein d’une famille de riches marchands. À sa mort, son père confie l'héritage de la famille à son frère jusqu’à l'entrée de Milarépa dans la vie adulte. Pourtant, l’oncle s’approprie l'héritage et exploite la mère et la jeune sœur de Milarépa. Désespérée, sa mère veut se venger de cette injustice. Elle vend son dernier champ, et envoie Milarépa auprès de Yongten Trogyal, un maître de magie noire. Il jette un sortilège et détruit une partie du village, tuant environ 30 personnes. La foule en colère le poursuit. Milarépa trouve refuge auprès d’un moine, et tandis que sa mère se rejouit de la vengeance accomplie, il est rongé par le remords. C’est alors qu’il reçoit un conseil qui changera sa vie : « Les ennemis naissent de ton esprit; Pour les vaincre, cesse les actions négatives, Cultive les actions positives, et Maîtrise ton esprit ».

Oseam follows two orphans, Gami (감이) and her younger brother Gilson (길손). Gami is a gentle and reserved blind girl, while Gilson is hyperactive and often gets into mischief. The two seek refuge at a Mahayana Buddhist temple, helping with the chores, as they cope with the loss of their mother and home several years ago due to a fire accident, which is also where Gami lost her sight. Gilson, too young to understand, still believes they will find their mother someday as Gami has never told him she died in the fire. Soon later Gilson accompanies a monk to go meditate in the mountains and find a cure for his sister's blindness, but ends up sacrificing his life for Gami's sight.
