Johnson (26 March 1953 – 18 August 2011) was an Indian film score composer and music director who has given music to some of the most important motion pictures of Malayalam cinema, including those for Koodevide, Namukku Parkkan Munthiri Thoppukal, Oru Minnaminunginte Nurunguvettam, Vadakkunokkiyantram, Perumthachan, Njan Gandharvan, Ponthan Mada, and Bhoothakkannadi. He was noted for his lyrical and expressive melodies together with simple but rich tonal compositions of thematic music. Johnson is a recipient of National Film Awards twice and Kerala State Film Awards five times.

He started his career as an assistant to G. Devarajan in 1970s, and debuted as an independent composer in late seventies with Aaravam. He was a recurrent collaborator for directors Padmarajan, Bharathan, Sathyan Anthikkad, T. V. Chandran, Kamal, Lohithadas, Balachandra Menon and Mohan. He has composed music for more than 300 Malayalam films, the most by any composer except for Devarajan. He was the first Music Director from Malayalam Film Fraternity to be honored with the National Award. He died of a heart attack in Chennai on 18 August 2011.

Omanakuttan (Mukesh), is a Bank Manager by profession. But he is very interested stage plays and he himself has directed and acted in many plays. He is approached by a film crew from town headed by Pavan (Suraj Venjaramoodu), to produce their debut venture. Omanakuttan who is a cinema aspirant, agrees to finance the film after he was offered the lead role. Eventually, he learns that neither Pavanan nor his associates know anything about film making. Omanakuttan decides himself to script and direct the film. He completes the film successfully with a limited cast but fails to find a distributor. To find a distributor, Omanakuttan goes to Chennai but fate had something else planned for him there. His bag gets stolen and while chasing the thief, he gets hit by a car. Fortunately the car was that of an accomplished film producer and distributor (Siddhiq). After hearing the story of Omanakuttan, he decides to distribute the film, which became a super hit in the box office.

The film revolves around Ajayan (Dileep), a clerk at a lawyer's office. Ajayan had an intercast marriage with Safia (Priyanka Nair) long ago. Jiya, daughter of James and Lisa and grand daughter of Mrs. Koshi, who enjoyed her teenage like a 'white feather' (Vellathooval). She is very conservative and have her own views. Manu gets fed up with his life. After his father's death, his mother marries Vijayaraghavan. He is always drunk and tortures Manu and his mom. So Manu fights with him and leaves home. Her uncle the City Police Commissioner Abi (K B Ganesh kumar) and his teams search every corners for them. At last Jiya injures a young college mate Willy in the stomach. He dies in the hospital. Willy's friends and police follow Jiya and Manu.

The film is about Daniel Thompson, a saxophone player who is a mute witness to many of the historical happenings taking place around in the world. And it is here that he meets Bhargavi Amma, a retired professor, who is also desolate after the death of her daughter and after being totally isolated in life. Dany and Bhargavi Amma develop an intimacy and they travel back together from the hospital. But Dany passes away on the way. Anyhow Bhargavi Amma decides to perform the funeral rites in the Christian manner in the compound of her house, a house of orthodox Hindus. This creates certain problems, but Bhargavi Amma decides to dare all such problems.

Stephen (Vijayaraghavan) is the circle inspector in charge of the anti-goonda squad but he himself is the head of a gang whose members are Acid (Saji Soman) and Sathan (Prithviraj Sukumaran). Sathan is a murderer and a rapist who is willing to do any crime for money. He meets a girl Angelina (Chandra Lakshman) whom he rapes and later she becomes pregnant. Angelina who was to be a nun is thus expelled from church and later Sathan starts having a soft corner for her. He decides to turn a new leaf in life but Stephen does not agree to his idea. And when Stephen is suspended from the department his anger towards Sathan increases. This leads to a bloody climax on a railway track. The Night of the climax, Saathan meets Angelina at the church, where she is staying. There he reveals he was the one who had raped her. After the revelation he leaves the church. Stephen and the police chase and arrest Sathan. Stephen plans to kill Saathan, after bloody fight, by laying him over the tracks. But Sathan grabs Stephen's leg and the train crushes them both to death. Next day Angelina is shocked at the news of Sathan's death, whom she had started to love.
