The film is directed by Indra Kumar and produced by Ashok Thakeria. It features the lead roles from the original, with Mallika Sherawat and Kangna Ranaut as new additions. The theatrical trailer of the film was revealed on 20 May 2011 along with the film Haunted. The film released on 24 June 2011.
Upon release, the film received mixed to negative reviews from critics, unlike its prequel, however was a moderate success at the box office.
Synopsis
The story continues from the previous film. The four good-for-nothing friends Roy (Deshmukh), Adi (Warsi), Manav (Jaaferi) and Boman (Chaudhary), are still conning people for a living. One day, they see their enemy Kabir (Sanjay Dutt) driving the luxurious Mercedes Benz, and disguise themselves to find out the secret behind his success. They investigate and find that he lives off his wife's wealth. They then blackmail him into making them his business partners, but little do the four idiots know that Kabir and his wife Kamini (Sherawat) along with his sister Kiya (Ranaut) have an agenda of their own. Kabir connects them with an investor named Bata Bhai (Satish Kaushik) who is also a part-time don. The four friends steal Bata Bhai's money, and the money is then stolen by Kabir and his family. Kabir leaves the country along with his family, and leaves the four idiots to get killed by Bata Bhai. However, the four friends leave the city and manage to track Kabir down in Macau. They make a plan to ruin Kabir's happiness and take their money back by going in disguise. Roy cons Kiya by pretending to be in love with her, whilst Adi pretends to be Kabir's secretary. Boman poses as a woman in love with Kabir to break his relationship. Manav poses as various characters. Though, Kabir, Kamini, and Kiya have their own plan. Dhamaal is about four friends; Boman Contractor (Aashish Chaudhary), who lives a wealthy lifestyle with his eccentric dad, Nari (Asrani), who loves his antique car more than his son, and asks his son to leave when he damages the car; dim-witted Manav (Jaaved Jaffrey), his elder brother Adi (Arshad Warsi); and Roy (Ritesh Deshmukh), a trickster who wears a magnetized belt buckle. All four are afflicted by the get-rich-quick virus. Their fortunes take a turn after they accidentally bump into an underworld don Bose (Prem Chopra) whilst he is about to die, who tells them about a hidden treasure in St. Sebastian Garden, Goa including ₹10 crores. The group race towards Goa in Nari's stolen car, little knowing that their plans will soon be foiled, albeit hilariously, by Police Inspector Kabir Nayak (Sanjay Dutt), who wants the money at any cost.

Ranjit Rai (Sadashiv Amrapurkar) and Harbanslal (Dalip Tahil) are two wealthy business magnates who despise the poor. Thus, they decide their children, Ajay (Ajay Devgan) and Madhu (Juhi Chawla), will marry wealthy spouses. The movie starts with the death of a dreaded don Tony (Boman Irani). Then the movie focuses on Pyare (Fardeen Khan), who is blind and Mohan (Vivek Oberoi) who is deaf after they meet a severe accident (they were actors). Both are friends and seem to be happy with their disability but they crave the love of a girl who will love them for who they are. They eventually come across two sisters Preeti (Esha Deol) and Priya (Amrita Rao). The men fall in love with them and begin to dream of a life with them. Unfortunately, the girls have the opposite feeling and see them only as friends and when they ask for the reason why they don't love them, they learn it is because of their disabilities. And so, burdened by their disabilities the girls leave for Bangkok as they have a show there.
