En Rajangam is a 1994 Tamil comedy drama film directed and produced by Siraj. The film features Anandaraj, Ramarjun, Vinodhini and Sreeja in lead roles, with Jaishankar, Ravichandran, Eashwar, Shanmugasundaram, Venniradai Moorthy and Thyagu playing supporting roles. The film had musical score by Deva and was released on 18 March 1994.

Synopsis

Gopalakrishnan (Anandaraj) is an honest and naive police constable who lives with his only sister Sugandhi (Vinodhini). Sugandhi and her classmate Suresh (Ramarjun) quarrel for small matters. Meanwhile, Gopalakrishnan and Kalyani (Sreeja) squabble whenever they meet. One day, Kalyani's mother dies and Gopalakrishnan brings her at his home. Later, Suresh and Sugandhi fall in love with each other and they get married secretly. Suresh's mother is later killed and the innocent Gopalakrishnan is arrested. Suresh comes to know that the murder was planned by the corrupt politician Kodandam (Ravichandran). What transpires later forms the crux of the story.

Rajinikanth finds himself to be an orphan. He travels from his village to Madras. There he meets Janakaraj, who gives him a job. By some magical situation, Rajni discovers himself to be a son of a dead millionaire—through Visu. Visu is the guardian of Rajni's father's trust. If Rajni wants his inheritance, he has to follow certain rules. He can get an inheritance of ₹3000 crore if he can spend ₹30 crore in a month. The three conditions are: no contributions to charities, not to own any assets at the end of the month, and, above all, no one else must know. If Rajni fails to spend the money according to the rules, all the money will go to his father's trust which is managed by V.K.Ramasamy, "Nizhalgal" Ravi, Kitty and Raghuvaran. These four form a team of "villains". They want to spoil Rajni's efforts and get all the money for the trust and then to loot the money. Rambha is Visu's daughter and she is appointed as the accountant for Rajni for 30 days.

Howvever, Rajappa refuses to commit himself and a helpless Duraisingam also gives up on his hope. Meanwhile, the atrocities of Malaichami grow wilder and uglier with every passing day and Rajappa is saddened by the plight of the villagers. He thinks of a way to deal with this terror without breaking his promise.
