Sreeja is an Indian actress acts prominently in Malayalam movies. . Her lead roles in Indrajaalam as Mohanlal's heroine and Cheriya Lokavum Valiya Manushyarum are well noted. She had acted only in few movies.

Biography

Sreeja is born to Theater artists Sreedharan and Usha on April 18, 1971 at Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. She has acted in few dramas along with her parents before coming to movie industry. She made her debut as child artist with Nidhi, a Malayalam movie in 1982. She continued to act in small roles after that. She acted as sister to Kamalahasan in Chanakyan and Jayaram in Mazhavil Kavadi. Later in 1989 she made her heroine debut with Annakutty Kodambakkam Vilikkunnu, the first movie directed by Jagathy Sreekumar. Then she went on to act heroine to many actors including Mohanlal in Indrajalam and Mukesh in Cheriya Lokavum Valiya Manushyarum and Kazhchakkappuram. She had her primary education from Karthika Thirunal Government Vocational Higher Secondary School For Girls, Thiruvananthapuram and bachelors from NSS Arts College For Women, Thiruvananthapuram. She is married to Sandhana Pandian who is from Tamil Nadu on June 2, 1993. The couple has a daughter.

Ramakrishnan (Sreenivasan), the newly appointed Tahsildar in the city comes to take over the charge but he is refused to be given the charge by the present Tahsildar S. Priyadarshini (Nandini). Priyadarshini is a strict officer and is much hated by the staff and associates in the Taluk Office. So they readily offers to help Ramakrishnan and arranges him a home next to Priyadarshini's house for him to stay during the interim. Meanwhile Sagar Kottapuram (Mohanlal), a friend of Ramakrishnan and a novelist, comes to stay with him. But he mistakenly enters Priyadarshini's house, completely drunk, and sleeps in her bed. When Priyadarshini comes home she mistakes him to be a thief and calls the police arresting him. But the Local SI being a fan of Sagar's novels lets him off his charges. That night Sagar gets into a fight with Priyadarshini and vows to get her off her Tahsildar post within 24 hours. The next day Ramakrishnan himself assumes the charge as Tahsildar according to Sagar's instruction. When Priyadarshini comes and sees this, she locks him inside the office room. Sagar calls him and gets to know this. He informs the press about the Tahsildar being locked inside the room by the previous Tahsildar. The press rushes to the scene, the district collector comes and suspends Priyadarshini. Ramakrishnan and Sagar celebrate their victory. The next day Priyadarshini comes to their home and apologizes. She invites them for breakfast. During the breakfast Sagar and Priyadarshini gets to an argument and Priyadarshini becomes hysterical and tries to suicide by using the table knife. Sagar and Ramakrishnan try to hold her back to but the servant mistakes them to be molesting Priyadarshini, sreaming and running out of the house. They get arrested for rape attempt. Maamachan (Innocent), the owner of the magazine ‘’Manchadi’’ gets them out on bail. Sagar wants to take revenge but is calmed down by Maamachan and Ramakrishnan. But he decides to write a novel called ‘’Oru Gazzetted Yekshi’’ portraying the life of a corrupt and seditious Municipal Commissioner with her appearance matching Priyadarshini's to take vengeance against her. After much indirect abuses through the Novel, the rape case is being heard at the court where Priyadarshini’s advocate reveals that Priyadarshini and Sagar were previously engaged but was unmarried and that Sagar tried to rape her to revenge for this. But both didn’t know of the truth until then.

The film begins with Captain Jacob Stephan, popularly known as Anakkattil Chackochi (Suresh Gopi) along with his friend Karimbanadan Sunny (Vijayakumar) going to Pollachi to meet Andipetti Veerapandi Thevar deal a spirit business. Thevar, though initially differs to negotiate, later after knowing that Chackochi is the son of Eappachan, his old friend agrees to help them. On way back to Kerala, they are stopped at check post by John Maruthnayagam, the police officer, who happened to be the colleague of Chackochi in army and helps them in leading back. Back at home, Anakattil Eappachan (M.G. Soman), his father is a famous liquor baron, who holds almost a monopoly over spirit business over Central and South Kerala. Eappachan is always at loggerheads with K.K Group (Kunnel-Kadayadi Group), his business rivals. Popularly known as Kadayadi siblings - Kadayadi Raghavan (N. F. Varghese), Kadayadi Thambi (Subair)and Kadayadi Baby (Spadikam George) enjoys a partnership with Kunnel Mathachan (Azeez) and his son Kunnel Outha (Sathar) in their business. Eappachan, who hails from a poor background has emerged in to such a position with his hard work and struggle and he had never forgotten his roots. But time to time, he had to clash with Kadayadi and Kunnel group over business. On the other side Chackochi is enjoying his life as a planter in the company of his buddies Hussein(Siddique) and Oommachan (Maniyanpilla Raju). He also shares a passionate relation with Gowri Parvathi (Nandini), the RDO (Revenue Divisional Officer) and of royal lineage. KK Group always lose to Eappachan but they never stopped their evil ways to eliminate him. The same time Eappachan agrees to gave his shares of profit to them in order to settle things peacefully. Still they are not satisfied, & in an attempt to regain the past glory in business, Kadayadi and Kunnel clans join with Excise minister Balakrishnan (T P Madhavan) and Eappachan's lieutenant Kattithara Paappi (Kollam Thulasi), thereby plans and kills Eappachan one day; Baby stabbing Eappachan by ambushing him from behind.

Vijayakumar is the head of the village (Oor Gounder) with his wife Manjula and his daughter Srija. He is a person of who strictly adheres to the caste. Sarathkumar is also in the same village. The story is about four thieves-turned-philanthropists, starting with the time they were thieves, how they meet together by chance and join forces, finally leading to a robbery attempt at a house that went awry but led to their reformation at the hands of the house owner who himself was a robber-turned-philanthropist. The thieves are played by Mukesh, Innocent, Jagathy Sreekumar and Mamukkoya, and philanthropist by Thilakan. The plot also shows how Thilakan spurs them to rob the corrupt rich and give to the poor, in the mold of Robin Hood, portraying two such gutsy episodes; first bringing to book a treacherous money lender Sunny (played by Shivaji) and next an unscrupulous business man and drug-dealer Madhava Menon, played by Babu Namboothiri. The second episode culminates in the murder of an accomplice of Madhava Menon, Dr. Narendran, played by Kollam Thulasi, at the hand of one of the four heroes, but Thilakan owns up this murder so as to exonerate him and let the good work continue.

The comical film introduces us to a small village and its funny characters. The narrator (M. G. Soman in the prologue) informs of its developments and day-to-day activities. Soon, it slowly focus to the problems discussed in the Panchayat office (fights do occur between two factions in a comical way), in which the main problem is the absence of a veterinary doctor. The leaders of the opposition faction, Nanappan (Jagathy Sreekumar) and Uthpalakshan (Pappu), gives a final ultimatum to the Panchayat president Unnikannan Nair (Nedumudi Venu) to resign his post if he can't find a vet within days.
