Synopsis
Changayya (Subba Rao) is a wealthy Sowkar (businessman) whose son Satyam (N.T. Rama Rao) is studying in the city. His neighbour is Ramayya (Srivatsa). Changayya is affectionate towards his daughter Subbulu (Janaki) and wants to make her his daughter-in-law. Satyam also likes this idea. But due to some conflict in the village courtesy Bangarayya, Ramayya provides the police witness against Changayya citing his hand present in the messy affair. The two families are thereafter estranged. They start off with petty fights, getting worse every day culminating with Satyam and Ramayya's son Narayana (Sivaram) ending up in jail after being framed. The local goonda Sunnapu Rangadu (S.V. Ranga Rao) plans to rob Changayya's place, but his plans are spoiled by Subbulu and Ramayya. Both the families end their differences, and become friendly once again. At the end, Satyam and Subbulu marry and live happily.Actors

Desperate to earn money to support his extended family, Mohan becomes entangled in a web of deceit when he tells a lie in order to obtain a secretarial job in the city with the wealthy Mr Rai. He says he isn't married, but he is. Mr Rai has a daughter with a heart condition. In the beginning of the film she uses a wheelchair, but Mohan has more than a mild therapeutic effect on her. She is soon up and running - running after him. Meanwhile, back in the village, the money he has been sending home is being filched by his greedy sister. Soon, mother, wife and a flock of children come looking for him and Mohan finds himself leading a double life in an increasingly desperate effort to avoid all parties learning the truth.
