Starring Mahesh Babu, Namrata Shirodkar in the lead roles, Krishna played an important role and music was composed by Mani Sharma. It was Mahesh Babu's third film as an actor. The story written by Satyanand. It was dubbed in Hindi as Vamsi The Warrior. Vamsi is also inspired by Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge in few scenes.
The film received negative reviews and was unsuccessful at the box office.
Synopsis
Vamsi (Mahesh Babu) is a fashion designer who gets an opportunity to participate a designer's contest held in Australia. Vamsi has a colleague called Sneha (Mayuri Kango) who is selected to model his creations in the fashion contest. Since Vamsi has to study the culture of Australia to design the best outfit, he is asked to tour Australia extensively for a month. Shilpa (Namrata Shirodkar) is the daughter of an industrialist Aakineedu Prasad (Nassar), who is studying in Australia. She decides to take a vacation after exams by touring the Australian country. Vamsi meets Shilpa in the tour and they slowly fall in love.Actors

The film is set in the backdrop of lorry driver's union who are compelled to work under a power-hungry owner Ranganayakulu (Raja Krishna Murthy) and thereby becoming victims of exploitation. The owner acts like he helps our lorry drivers to become independent but frame them in smuggling and illegal cases. A fearless Lorry Driver Balamurali (Nandamuri Balakrishna) questions this exploitation and demands rights for the union. An IAS Officer, Collector Lalitha Devi (Sharada) and her husband SP Pradeep Kumar (Vijayakumar) also helps the Balamurali, in this regard Jayamma (Vijayashanti) is ideal as his female lead with mass oriented.

The film begins with election campaigning in Bobbili Village. Sundaraiyah (Gummadi) and Rajeswari Devi (Vanisree) are strong opponents in elections. Rajeswari Devi and her elder brother Ahobala Rao (Kota Srinivasa Rao) plays a lot of tactics to win the elections. But their younger brother Suryam (Vidya Sagar) supports Sundaraiyah and also loves his daughter Rajyalakshmi (Sumitra) and she becomes pregnant. Everybody dishonors her and Ahobala Rao wants to take an advantage of the situation in the election campaign. Inspector Ramaraju (Nandamuri Balakrishna) is a sincere police officer or who people call a Rowdy Inspector which is his titular role. Auto Rani (Vijayashanti) is an auto driver who falls in love with Ramaraju and helps him out with his missions. He arrests every goon that he sees. Bobarlanka Ramabrahmam (Mohan Raj) is an underworld don who rules areas filled with rowdies. Home Minister Karanam Kaasiah (Kota Srinivasa Rao) and the S.P. (Captain Raju) are his supporters. Ramabrahmam tries to show Ramaraju who's boss for messing with his gang of goons. The Collector of Anokhapur, Jagatpratap Singh (played by Dilip Kumar) is a stickler for law and order. However, his son, Ravi (Sanjay Dutt) believes that sometimes illegal means may be adopted in order to assert control. This causes conflict between Jagatpratap and his son. Bhushannath 'Dharmendra' Bhadbhole (Kader Khan) is a corrupt Minister of Fisheries. His son, Kailash (Gulshan Grover), and Kabza Kanhaiyalal (Anupam Kher) rape and kill Jagatpratap's maid/servant and also kill Ravi's friend. Instead of being convicted for this crime, they are acquitted because they gave fake alibis. Ravi decides to give these criminals the punishment they deserve. As Ravi knows this will cause a conflict with his father, he decides to leave home. He then becomes a police inspector. This does not heal the father-son bond as he still has different ideas about the meaning of justice. After deliberating on the statement that "the law is for human beings but not for monsters", the father finally agrees to join his son in his fight against the corrupt minister.
