LIC Narasimhan was a Tamil film character artiste who appeared in Tamil-language films. He has appeared in over 300 films and was also seen on the small screen and in ads.
He was working for LIC as an officer, quit his job to take up a career in Kollywood, hence was called as LIC Narasimhan. He had acted in many films in the role of doctor, police officer and Judge. He was seen as Superstar Rajnikanth’s brother in the hit film Aarilirunthu Arubathu Varai. His comical pronunciation of ‘Ninnu Kori Varnam’ and ‘Paal Irukke Palam Irukkee’ to ace comedian Goundamani in the film Themmangu Paattukaaran was very popular among the audience.

Dharma (Vijayakanth) lives with his lawyer father (Jaishankar), his mother (Vadivukkarasi), his journalist brother Vijay (Thalaivasal Vijay) and beloved sister Geetha (Shilpa). Sakthi (R. Sarathkumar) and his best-friend Thangamani (Goundamani) are taxi-drivers in Mumbai. Sakthi fights for the Tamil community against the local rowdies who want to expel them from their area. The Tamil association of Mumbai prepares the 25th anniversary function so the association's presidents invite the pillars of the association but only one person doesn't respond for the invitation : Karpagavalli, the wife of the late founder Sandanapandian. The presidents go to Karpagavalli's village Pasumpon to invite her but they are driven out from the village. In fact, Karpagavalli (Srividya) and her relatives (Sivaranjani, Kavitha and Kokila) are held prisoners by the heartless Duraipandi (Raghuvaran) in his palace. Under pressure, Duraipandi finally lets Karpagavalli go to the function in Mumbai. In the meantime, the police officers force the Tamil community to leave their place but they refuse. So the police officers kidnap and rape the young girls under the influence of Amara Settu (K. Rajpreeth). Sakthi turns berserk, he kills all the police officers and the main antagonist Amara Settu who created conflicts between the Tamil people and Hindi people. Therefore, Sakthi becomes a hero for the community and they ask him to flee instead of surrendering. By chance, Sakthi and Thangamani take the same train as Karpagavalli. Karpagavalli asks them to come to her village and she compels Sakthi to become the palace's protector. Later, Sakthi and Thangamani try to leave the village but Karpagavalli stops them. In the process, Karpagavalli was heavily wounded by Duraipandi's henchmen.

Ayyanar is a kind-hearted person and kulfi street vendor. One day, out of pity Ayyanar gives refuge to a girl suffering amnesia and behaving like a child. Ayyanar and Aatha (Ganthimathi) who is like his own mother take care of her. Ayyanar names the girl "Nila". In the meantime, the medical student Subha (Yuvarani) falls in love with Ayyanar. Living with a woman without getting married is not well seen, so Ayyanar and Nila get married. Afterward, Ayyanar and Nila live happily, Nila becomes pregnant. Guru (Rajinikanth) and Babu (Prabhu) are two friends and petty criminals. They end up in jail and come across an innocent man Manohar ('Mannvaasanai' Paandiyan) who tells them that his sister was raped by Muthuraaj (Radha Ravi) and who had killed a taxi driver (witness) with the help of foolish corrupt police officer Nallasivam (Vinu Chakravarthy) and pinned the murder on Manohar. Manohar is sentenced to death row for the killing by the court. Guru and Babu believe in Manohar's story and decide to find the truth and prove his innocence once they get out of jail. Guru fractures Manohar's hand so that his death sentence would be delayed, until it heals, under law. Guru and Babu get released from prison and set in motion an elaborate plan to find out the real killers. Along the way, Guru, who believed that his parents were murdered, finds out that they are in fact being held captive by Muthuraj's brother Rajamanickam (Ravichandran) who is trying to find the map to a treasure. The location of the map is know only to Guru's father who is suffering from memory loss and is tortured to make him remember it. Babu finds out that his parents were murdered by Rajamanickam (Ravichandran). Guru and Babu help them find the treasure to free Guru's parents and Guru finds out that Manohar is his own brother. The ensuing fight at the treasure location, ends up with Muthuraj and his brother arrested by the police after Guru and Babu beat them up and the treasure cave collapses after Guru, Babu and Guru's family escape from it. Babu marries Muthuraj's niece Chitra (Seetha) while Guru marries Nallasivam's daughter Geetha (Gautami Tadimalla) and they live happily ever after for.
