Peter Stein (born October 12, 1943) is an American cinematographer. His career of over three decades spans many themes and genres. His most well-known works define the cult horror films of the late 1980s and early 1990s including Pet Sematary, C.H.U.D., and Friday the 13th Part 2. He currently teaches cinematography in the graduate film program at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts and is a member of the American Society of Cinematographers (ASC).

Set in Palm Beach, Florida, Sean Armstrong (Hogan) is an ex-wrestler and Burt Wilson (Sherman Hemsley) is his friend and former manager, now running a bodyguard service. Sean is suffering from wrestler-days' nightmares, while Burt has a bum leg from saving Sean's life and financial difficulties. With much whining and acting, Burt manages to persuade Sean to take a bodyguard job for Alex Mason, Sr. (Austin Pendleton), the head of the prestigious tech firm, Mason Systems, which is developing a new anti-missile system, the Peacefinder Project. The vital information for this project is stored on a microchip. But it is neither the inventor nor the chip Sean has to guard - he is to look after the two Mason kids: Alex Jr. (Robert Hy Gorman) and Kate (Madeline Zima).

Eric Idle and Robert Wuhl star as a mismatched couple, Wendel and Lou in this mystery-comedy caper. Characters include a one-handed kingpin,a lawyer who suffers from dwarfism, and twin brothers, one a crazed photographer and the other a mild-mannered antique dealer. One of Wendel's many former foster parents, Mr Hu, dies, and his lawyer (the dwarf) gives Wendel his inheritance. A riddle. Security guards Chuck (Gailard Sartain) and Bobby (Bill Byrge) play a game of Red light/Green light while being night watchmen for Howard County Bank and Trust and are obsessed with elaborate schemes of would-be thieves. They hear a sound coming from a floor polisher that Ernest is trying to turn on for operation - he works as a night custodian at the bank - and dreams that he would be a clerk. He becomes magnetic from a mishap with the floor polisher and makes a disastrous mess. The next day, bank president Oscar Pendlesmythe's assistant, Charlotte Sparrow (Barbara Tyson) insists that he clean up his mess. Pendlesmythe wants to terminate Ernest's employment, but Charlotte has a soft heart for misfits and stray dogs, so she argues on his behalf. Ernest takes a bath at home in a tumble dry washing machine and uses a blow dryer with a windtunnel force for his evening dinner with Charlotte in a restaurant. He later receives a jury duty summons and excitedly tells the two watchmen about it. During the trial Dracup Maximum Security Prison convict Rubin Bartlett notices that death row inmate Felix Nash is a dead ringer for Ernest. Rubin's lawyer convinces the jury to tour the prison, where Ernest is abducted by Nash and another inmate named Lyle and forced to switch places with Nash. Even though he tries to tell the guards he is not Nash, they refuse to believe him. Ernest also does not know that he has a death sentence which is for Nash.

When an abandoned textile mill is reopened, several employees meet mysterious deaths. The link between the killings being that they all occurred between the hours of 11 p.m. and 7 a.m.—the graveyard shift. The sadistic mill foreman (Stephen Macht) has chosen newly hired drifter John Hall (David Andrews) to help a group clean up the mill's rat-infested basement. The workers find a subterranean maze of tunnels leading to the cemetery—and a bear-sized, hairless, bat-like creature that hunts at night. In the end, Hall is able to kill the giant bat when it gets caught in the grinding wheels of a cotton picker and crushed to death.

A man who claims to be Santa Claus (Douglas Seale) arrives at the Orlando International Airport in Florida. Ernest P. Worrell (Jim Varney) is working as a taxi driver. He takes a passenger to the airport, but speeds and the passenger falls out of the taxi. Attorney Phillip Reed is tired of one-night stands. He then meets a woman at the zoo, Gloria, who is getting married the next week. When she meets Phillip, she lies to him and tells him her name is Marsha Lyons. The two hit it off right, away and Gloria/Marsha tells Phillip she'll call him. Gloria/Marsha doesn't plan on ever calling him back, but when she calls her soon-to-be groom and a woman whom he presumably slept with answers, Gloria/Marsha decides to call Phillip. She asks him to go to Mexico with her, and the two have an adventure getting there when the car they rented breaks down and catches fire. Then they hitch a ride with some local farm workers. Finally, they make it to a beautiful home that is owned by Gloria/Marsha's parents. They have a blast in Mexico, dining and dancing, eventually winding up in bed together. The next morning Phillip gets up looking for Gloria/Marsha who's already left. Phillip finds out via a videotape explanation left by Gloria/Marsha that she's getting married tomorrow and that he was supposed to be her last fling. Phillip then tries to find her. When he finally does, he tries to stop the wedding and convince Gloria that they belong together. In the end, Gloria leaves her groom at the altar, and she and Phillip go for a walk in the zoo where they first met.
