It stars Mammootty, Nadia Moidu and Taapsee Pannu in the lead roles, and features an extensive cast of supporting actors with Saiju Kurup, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Salim Kumar, Anoop Chandran, Bijukkuttan, Y. G. Mahendra and Avinash amongst others. It also features Roma and Rima Kallingal in cameo roles. The film is an emotional drama that also combines comedy and action contents. It is produced by K. K. Narayanadas under the banner of Reels on Wheels Entertainment. The film released coinciding with the festival of Vishu on 14 April 2011.
The film features music by James Vasanthan, cinematography by P. Sukumar, and editing by V. Sajan. Doubles, which is a story of two siblings who rescue victims of road accidents, is a subtle portrayal of the general mindset of the people to run away from trouble without trying to help an injured victim of an accident. Mammootty plays the role of Giri and Nadia his twin sister Gowri. Mumbai based model Taapsee Pannu acts Mammootty's heroine role. The shooting of the film held at Goa and Puducherry.
The film was dubbed and released in Tamil as Puduvai Managaram. Despite the disappointing failure of the original Malayalam version, the dubbed Tamil version became a smash hit at the box office. Sachi-Sethu duo told the story of two siblings through 'Doubles'. The film which was not a great success in Malayalam has been graciously accepted by the Tamil audience.
Synopsis
The film tells the story of fraternal twins Giri (Mammootty) and Gowri (Nadia Moidu), who lost their parents in an accident early in life. They grew up together in an orphanage, inseparable. And when they grew rich, they set up an accident rescue unit in Puducherry in memories of their parents. They have even learnt mountaineering to carry out rescue operations. Their team consists of characters played by Saiju Kurup, Anoop Chandran and Bijukkuttan, and good for nothing ambulance-chasing lawyer named Lawrence (Suraj Venjaramoodu).Actors

Sugunan (Jayaram) is a stereotypical Malayali husband who habitually underestimates his wife Bindu (Gopika) in managing a family. The film begins in a city in Andhra, where the CBI raid a rich local politician's house. The Chief Officer is shown to be Jayam Ravi, who orders to seize all illegal items found. The politician is arrested, but he requests to come to the CBI office in his own car. It is later revealed that, no CBI raid was planned on his house and all that happened was a hoax. The politician gets angry and orders to hunt down the men who cheated him in the name of CBI. Aadhi (Jayam Ravi) is a gangster, specialised in drug and arms dealing. The hoax CBI raid was one of his mission to loot the politicians. Aadhi is living alone, as his mom and sister are angry with him for being a gangster. As it goes, Aadhi meets Karishma, (Neetu Chandra), a beautiful hotel waitress, who often gets humiliated by her boss. Aadhi falls for her, and saves her and takes her home to be with him. During a drug deal, Aadhi is being attacked and he is shot. Karishma saves him, treats his wounds and saves his life. Aadhi plans to leave to Mumbai, where he gets attacked in the airport, and it is revealed that Karishma is a part of the criminal gang that was trying to kill Aadhi. Then Aadhi is taken Hostage, where another victim reveals the true story about Karishma. Her name is not Karishma at all, but she is Rani, the right hand and partner in crime of a very powerful, cruel, ruthless criminal named Bhagavan Alias Mumbai Bhagavan (Jayam Ravi) who looks exactly like Aadhi. Bhagavan is a very feminine charactered guy, who loves to wear make up and walk, talk and do everything like a girl. But he still has a weakness for good looking girls. Bhagavan does so many jobs for his customers, such as include murder, robbery, and kidnap . At one such instance, Bhagavan gets angry by the behavior of a politician's cousin and murders him. The politician gets angry and promises to get Bhagavan murdered. As the politician is much more powerful than Bhagavan, he goes into hiding. But the Politician makes the search very intense and is very keen to find Bhagavan. So Arumugam comes to know about Aadhi, who resembles Bhagavan. So she traps him and makes him fall into her plan, so that he can be substituted as Bhagavan, on whom the politician wants to take revenge. In the climax, Aadhi kills Karishma and Bhagavan brutally. The film ends with Aadhi leaving the place while Bhagavan also moves away from the place which indicates that Bhagavan is alive and film also hints for sequel.

Annan Thambi is the story of twin brothers, Appu and Achu (both played by Mammootty). Appu is a talkative conman who always finds himself in trouble. Rocket Raja (Karthi) is a small-time thief who steals anything he comes across. With his partner Kaatu poochi (Santhanam) he enjoys life to its fullest and even falls for the beautiful Swetha (Tamannaah). However, his life changes when a small girl Divya Rathinavel (Baby Rakshana)ends up in his care; he looks exactly like her father Rathniavel Pandian IPS (Karthi). As Raja discovers the girl's past, it is revealed that Rathinavel Pandian is an honest policeman who is a nightmare to criminals, but that one gang of criminals in the village of Devi pattnam are intent on killing him and his daughter because he killed the son of a prominent criminal, who also sexually abused women. Rathinavel Pandian's colleagues put Divya in Rocket Raja's care so that the criminals cannot track her. Rathinavel Pandian is on the verge of death following a gunshot to his head. At first Raja is angry with the little girl and breaks her tape recorder. Divya is happy and hugs him, after he repairs it. Rathinavel Pandian is intent on fighting back. Unfortunately, he dies following a battle with several criminals who had been chasing Raja and Divya. From police officers,he realizes that Pandian was an honest and courageous police officer who stood against Babuji and his family who had cruelly ruled a village. Pandyan even manages to kill his son and stops their criminal acts. Pandyan manages to fail his brother but he gets shot when he tried to save a child.Upon seeing his courage, Rocket Raja (with the help of Rathinavel Pandian’s colleagues) steps into Rathinavel Pandian's shoes and finishes his unfinished work as he himself is a thug and destroys all their properties with the help of kaatu poochi in a hilarious way.He also kills his brother and also takes on the responsibility of taking care of Divya, with the help of Swetha.

Ramu (MGR) is the cowardly one – the heir to all riches of Poonjolai Jamin. He has been raised that way by his sister's husband Narendran (Nambiar). Ramu shivers at the very mention of his brother in law's name and a whiplash is Narendran's favorite form of punishment. Narendran wants to get Ramu married to Leela (Saroja Devi) but she is turned off by his cowardice. With Ramu being kidnapped and Ilango going to help his brother and revealing everything to narendran brings the film to climax.

In 16th Century London, a pauper called Tom Canty reads to a group a children but is attacked and threatened by his cruel father John Canty to steal five shillings by suppertime or get beaten. Tom goes into the city square and steals a purse from a rich man, but drops it after bumping into another man. Thinking that Tom still has the purse, the rich man and other men chase Tom through the streets of London. Tom escapes by climbing up a wall and through a window, where he falls into a palace garden in front of King Henry VIII, who sets the guards on him.
