Manikka Vinayagam is a Tamil playback singer and actor. He has sung for all the south Indian language films and acted in several Tamil feature films as a character artist. He is the son of the famous dancer Vazhuvoor B. Ramiah Pillai. His uncle and music guru was the famous singer C. S. Jayaraman.

Pasupathy (Shiva) is a go lucky guy who wanders without any purpose. He is living with his younger sister Kavitha (Monisha) and house maid Senthamarai (Kovai Sarala) who is a part-time liquor seller in black market. Pasupathy's sister is in love with his close friend Mano (Soori) which Pasupathy is not aware. His friend indirectly tries to convey that matter to him to which he does not understand. Pasupathy has a maternal uncle (Ilavarasu) who is a lawyer and their care taker since their parents died. Pasupathy loses his house to a bank on a surety crisis which involved his father. Hence he is compelled to settle in job. Pasupathy's uncle applies for an opening in his friend's mineral water company 'Classique' for marketing head post. He gives many instructions about the owner Sivagurunathan (Prakash Raj) who is an ardent devotee of Lord Murugan and who is against recommendations. Pasupathy manages to get job by dressing in a simple Gandhian manner, faking as a Murugan devotee and tells he follows very valuable principles written in the book of Sivagurnathan himself which attracts Sivagurunathan.

J.K. (Cheran), a brooding CB-CID officer, is worried about his missing sister. His senior officer promises him that he can take up his sister's case after he solves another important one, so J.K. agrees. Amputated male arms are packed in cartons and left in public places, possibly as a message to the police. The missing people are identified as Raja Manikam, Moorthy etc., based on identification from their families. By triangulating the coordinates they find a lead in this case. Durai Pandi (Manicka Vinayagam) is a leading textile shop owner who was beaten, insulted in public and handed over to the police after it was found that he had used a peephole to look into the women’s dressing room. He is caught by the victim Suja's family, who are totally shattered by this incident. The inspector in-charge of this case is Isakki Muthu. Later, Durai Pandi's manager accepts the blame for the crime, clearing Durai Pandi's name. Later, Suja's father Dr. Purushothaman (Y. Gee. Mahendra) is arrested on charges of bribery, and then released. A sex affair complaint is lodged against Dr. Purushothaman’s wife (Lakshmy Ramakrishnan) by John Britto. These events shatter the family, and they commit suicide by setting themselves on fire. But Suja is still missing, so J.K. decides to reopen the case.

Vasu (Manchu Manoj Kumar) is a strong willed reckless guy. He spends most of his time hanging out with his friends, who belong to the same flock. Vasu travels to Vizag from Tirupati in search of a job. In Vizag, he incidentally meets Vijji again. Meanwhile, there is another girl Pooja (Varshita), who is madly in love with Vasu. With Vasu out to prove a point to his father, finally convinces him and in the process also wins the hand of the heroine. By the end, he also realizes the importance of family values and his love for Vijji.
