Altered Species, also known as Rodentz, is a 2001 horror film, about a scientist who has found a way to regenerate damaged tissue in the body.
Synopsis
A scientist, searching for a way to end cancer, creates a green substance. His assistant, Walter, gets rid of it by pouring it down the sink. Due to pipes in the basement having leaks, the substance falls in a spot where it is exposed to rats. When the scientist leaves, Walter invites friends over for a party. As the party continues, the rats, including a giant one, attack the party goers.Actors

Two pilots named Shoichi Tsukioka and Koji Kobayashi are hunting for schools of fish for a tuna cannery company in Osaka. Kobayashi's plane malfunctions and is forced to land near Iwato Island, an uninhabited strip of rocks formed by volcanic eruptions. Tsukioka then looks for Kobayashi and finds him safe, with only a wrist sprain. While talking, the two men hear some strange sounds and find two monsters fighting. Tsukioka immediately recognizes one of the monsters to be Godzilla. The two monsters then fall off a cliff, into the ocean.

The mad scientist named Preston King (Jeffrey Combs) invites the doctors that could not save his son Paul King (Anton Argirov) from kidney cancer before to his uncharted island in the western Pacific. There, Tom Reed (William Forsythe), Paul's widowed wife Amelia Lockhart (Hunter Tylo), who believes Paul died five years ago from cancer, and several meet on the island. There, Dr. King reveals that Paul never died and was saved from death by being injected with hammerhead shark DNA and filling his stem cells. This turned Paul into a half-man, half-shark creature. Dr. King leaves and releases the water from the tank where he was keeping Paul and hopes that he will eat them as revenge for them firing him from his job five years ago. As Paul, now known as Hammerhead, chases after them, they escape along with Hammerhead.

In Montreal, Quebec, scientist Andre Delambre (David Hedison) is found dead with his head and arm crushed in a hydraulic press. Although his wife Helene (Patricia Owens) confesses to the crime, she refuses to provide a motive and exhibits a number of strange behaviors. In particular, she is obsessed with flies, including a supposedly white-headed fly. A team of environmentalists, including a reporter, her camera man, and an environmentalist's famous girlfriend charter a boat and with the captain, sail to a military island.
